Getting Around
Getting to Miskolc from Budapest:
Trains to Miskolc leave regularly from the Keleti station. You can find the train schedule and purchase tickets online here:
If you are travelling by car, you need to take the M3 freeway from Budapest and follow the signs to Miskolc. You will need to purchase a motorway vignette, available at a local petrol station or online (https://ematrica.nemzetiutdij.hu). At present, he price of a 10 day freeway sticker is 3890 Ft. Once you reach the Miskolc city limits, take the first exit and follow the signs
Getting to the university from the train station and city centre:
From the train station, take tram 1 or 2 to the city centre (Szinvapark stop). From there you will need to take bus 20 which stops on the street corner opposite the tram stop.

ATM locations on campus: There is an OTP ATM located just inside the entrance of building A4 (on the right entrance when facing the building), and there is an Erstebank ATM located just outside the main entrance of building A1 (also on the right when facing the building).
Shopping and Eating: The most convenient place to shop is the Lidl located just across the street from the Uni-Hotel (use the crosswalk at the light). Convenient places to purchase food include the university cafeteria (lunch), located next to building E7, the Uni Café, on the ground floor of the Uni Hotel (breakfast, lunch and dinner), and the „Barred” (Rácsos) Buffet (breakfast and lunch), located near the entrance of building A1. Murphy’s Irish Pub, Restaurant and Garden is also located within walking distance of the main campus, just across the street from Lidl.

Another local favorite is the traditional Transylvanian restaurant „Székely Kúria”, located about a 25 minute walk from the main campus, or a 5 minute bus ride by bus 22.

Tourist Attractions
- One of the main tourist attractions of Miskolctapolca, the cave baths, are located quite close to the university campus. The cave baths include both indoor and outdoor thermal pools, as well as sauna and wellness. For more information please visit: http://barlangfurdo.hu/en
- The Bükk National Park, which includes hiking trails offering breathtaking views, as well as unique tours of local stalactite caves, is one site you definitely want to make time for! - The brand new Bükk Observatory, located in Répáshuta, approximately 30 km. from Miskolc, offers a wide variety of programs, including magnificent nighttime stargazing! Another popular attraction beloved by visitors to Miskolc is the forest train which runs from Lillafüred to Garadna, with a stop at the famous trout farm. The station is easily accessible by bus 5. Tickets can be bought at the station. The schedule is available at: http://www.laev.hu
Ticket prices are 1700 Ft. one way and 3400 Ft. round trip for adults, and 1200 Ft. one way and 2400 Ft. round trip for children ages 3-14, students and pensioners.

The Kemény Dénes Athletic Swimming Facility is located within walking distance of the university campus, to the right of the track field and stadium. This facility offers an Olympic-sized pool, along with a smaller pool for relaxation, as well as a gym, sauna and solarium. Prices are the following: Adult swim ticket—1300 Ft., swim ticket for pensioners—950 Ft., Morning swim ticket (Mon.-Fri. 6:00-8:00)—860 Ft., Gym ticket for adults—700 Ft., Gym ticket for pensioners—600 Ft., Adult sauna + swim ticket—1500 Ft., Pensioner sauna + swim ticket—1200 Ft., Adult sauna ticket—900 Ft., Pensioner sauna ticket—800 Ft., Adult gym + sauna ticket—1300 Ft., and Pensioner gym + sauna ticket—1100 Ft.
